Day Five of Helmut's walking tour of the Lakeland fells brings him back to Loweswater.

Jo, John and I set off for Hen Comb to meet him on his last summit of the day.

Jo and John walking up the track from Kirkhead.

Clear views of Scotland over Loweswater as we make our ascent. Darling Fell is to the right.

The final climb to the summit comes into view as we make our way along the ridge of Hen Comb.

Cotton grass and colourful vegetation.

John looks back at the path along the ridge and the Lorton valley.
The slopes of Mellbreak and Grasmoor behind Jo.

We choose a spot out of the cool breeze and wait until we spot Helmut !
Getting closer !

A welcome from the dogs !

A rest and a chat before he makes the short trip to the summit cairn.

Later that evening, Paul, Jayne and Max join us for a meal at the Kirkstile to celebrate Helmut's return.

One more surprise . . . it turns out to be Paul's birthday today.

Here with Max.
Happy Birthday Paul !
