My local painter and decorator in his spare time is also a
Bond Bug enthusiast. Whilst at my house recently he told
me of a Lakeland Drive
being undertaken by him and his friends, so I asked them to
stop by, if and when they were passing.
We get several 'convoys' of various car clubs passing each
year, but this was the first one that actually stopped by the
phone box.
An advanced phone call meant that I was out with the camera
when they arrived.
The event, the fourth Cocker-Bug annual Rally, was organised
by Sean and Julie Parnaby.
Lined up at the phone box, roofs up so the drivers and passengers
can get out and walk around !
Roof down and in their more normal guise, they look much more
like classic Reliant Bond Bug three-wheelers.
Keen eyed will notice that two of them have undergone modification
into a four wheel layout.
They are still the same "under the bonnet" but have
modified front suspension and wheel arches.
