A trip into the big city tonight  . . . well Cockermouth anyway !

'Tis Christmas and the town is celebrating the fact through the decorations and ornate shop windows.

Do join me on a stroll about town tonight.

Driving in past the Swan Inn at the top of town . . . after finding a quick parking space.

Photo taken, I continue on down into the centre of town.

Main Street lights . . .
. . . adorn all the lamp posts.

Down a side alleyway, Cockermouth History Wall is well illuminated.

The window of the Opticians is shimmering so much it makes your eyes go funny !

Elliot & Blacks fabric and curtain shop.
A large Gingerbread Man in the bakers.

Not all the windows were brightly coloured.

The travel shop was promoting holidays north of the Arctic Circle.

Several windows had taken inspiration . . .
. . . from Christmas songs and Carols.

Humming Bird is offering the perfect gift for your home.

. . . and Firns the Hardware shop offers a sleigh full of gifts for you to chose from.

Often simple windows can be eye catching . . .
. . . such as this one in the Children's Society shop.

Big screen . . . no a large 3D model of the Nativity in Market Place.

Fancy a quick wash and blow dry for Christmas ?

Banks Ironmongers . . . with old and new.
County Veg . . . a very colourful festive window.

Back in the main Street . . . the pub is named after a famous son of Cockermouth.

In the gardens of the Trout Hotel . . . as the daylight finally fades.

A fine tree covered in stars . . .
. . .  and the Trout artwork, both beautifully illuminated.

Back to the car and a final look down Main Street and the Christmas Tree on the central island.
