Some days you can wake up and find difficulty working out why you should leave your nice warm bed.

Other days, like today, the sun streams in and you look out of the window and you can't stay in bed any longer.

Even the dogs had to wait for their breakfast while I grabbed the camera and went outside.

The sun bursts over the Dove Crag Ridge of Grasmoor and shines through the valley mist.

The cloud swirls around the fells but looking up we can see the blue of the sky.

Today will be a great day for cloud inversions if the conditions hold.

The red phone box shines through in the sunshine

and it has been a great week of weather for the folk that are staying at Rose Cottage this week.

Through the trees, moving quietly so as not to disturb the sheep.
New-born lamb in the field, one of the first around here.

The mist has left a heavy dew on the fields which shines in the sunshine.

New lambs in the other field are running about full of the 'Joys of Spring'.

As the sun rose the valley the mist took on new light.

It seemed that the mist was on the move, not away but back and fore and the views changed all the time.

Mellbreak is a little clearer now as breakfast is announced.

By the time we were ready for a walk the mist has lifted and has changed to a thicker layer of cloud.

The Vale of Lorton is under the mist, as is Lanthwaite Hill . . . but we are warming up nicely here in Loweswater.
