Our daughter Jenna is across from Sheffield for half term.

In between planning and marking she made sure she found time to enjoy the scenery on offer. 

Her first afternoon she and Ann headed out to Rannerdale.

A bit of a surprise for Harry and Dylan as they had already been up Darling Fell that morning !

The sun continues to shine as we park the car below Rannerdale.

Grasmoor towers above us.

Darling Fell, just to the left of Low Fell, the walk the dogs and I did this morning.

[ No pictures from the first walk so these pictures from Jenna this afternoon are a real bonus.]

A little hazy looking up the valley, over Buttermere and Crummock, but a lovely view as ever.

We are almost at the summit.

On the way back we cut down the front of the fell, across the flanks of Rannerdale, only possible when the bracken is down.

Finally we return to the beach near the car park.

Two of the party had a short swim before setting off for home . . . guess who !!
