Places visited : Loweswater, Kirkhead. Mosedale crossing, Little Dodd, Hen Comb and back.

Walk details : 4.5 ml, 1362 ft of ascent, 2 hours 30 mins.

Highest point : Hen Comb 1,669ft ( 509m)

Walked with : Jayne, James, Matthew, myself (Ann) and the dogs, Harry and Bethan.

Weather : Low cloud but dry.

Appearing out of the mist . . . on Hen Comb

Jane, James and Matthew were in Loweswater this afternoon and fancied a walk out on the local fells.

It was mid afternoon when they arrived so it was a prompt start to get back before the light faded.

The Negative Signpost below the Kirkstile Inn.

The front of Jayne and the back of our two dogs . . . could have been worse . . . could have been the other way round.

Our two male companions . . .Matthew . . .	. . . and James.

The summit is in sight ahead of us

but it keeps disappearing behind the drifting cloud.

The final pull up onto the mist shrouded summit.

Harry waits for me, Bethan is already on the skyline . . . no surprises there then !

It is nearly quarter to six and daylight is fading.

which we then waded across a second time before taking the Mosedale track home.
