We had a lovely email from Angie near Peterborough today. She was enjoying the Autumnal colours at the lake near her home.

This is the photo she sent . . .

So we thought we would go and look at ours too . . .

Even the Puffins had their Gortex on today
and the River Cocker was flowing fast and fairly full.

Lovely Autumnal colours, but they were mainly covering the ground, as we walked up through the woods.

Scary dog, catching the camera flash, as we stand at the beach.

Rannerdale Knotts is the shadowy fell in the distance. Gable and Haystacks were in the gloom beyond.

Roaring waters at the weir.

High water, but not yet over the path. Click here or on the photo for a short video clip to get you in the mood.

( The 1 min video should open a new window and play in your Windows Media Player)

( It may take a minute or so to download on slower connection speeds - please be patient )

The second weir was also flowing at an impressive rate.

Grasmoor across the lake, not a place to be on a day like today.

The footbridge where the infant River Cocker flows into Crummock from Loweswater a mile or so away.

The waves on the lake where the wall turns to the Pump house.

( The white spots are rain in the flash rather than snow ! )

Time to turn for home.

Harry doesn't seem to mind the water on the path, or the spray from the waves.

What's this . . . Ann enjoying the atmosphere of the day ???

I think I'll leave her to enjoy the weather
and make my way back to home via the beach.

Better wait . . . she's got the car keys.
