With Mike staying this week we decided on a local walk, to exercise ourselves and the dogs,

and to show him parts of the district he had not seen before.

The Kirkstile Inn (He'd seen that several times)
Wainwright's negative signpost.

Sunshine and shadows on Crummock lakeside and Grasmoor

The local farmer, Chris, passing us in the narrow lane.
Out towards the open valley with Hen Comb summit ahead.

Loweswater, Darling Fell and Low Fell from the same place.

A brief diversion to the "swimming pool" - Ann throwing sticks for the dogs.

A flat walk today, following the bridle way across the valley.

The Mosedale Holly with the Gale Fell crags (part of Starling Dodd) behind.

Looking back down the valley past Mellbreak to Low Fell and Darling Fell.

Mike and I on the new steel footbridge.

Mike was my Best Man at my marriage to Ann

a few years ago now .

We both had different colour hair then !

Harry waiting for more sticks to be thrown - but there's not a lot out here in the middle of the valley.

Retracing our steps, Grasmoor again.
Beautiful flowers back at the Kirkstile.
