An Icelandic Adventure - Krafla Mountain and Volcanic Lake

From the higher side we had the extensive view across this north east region of Iceland.

The cars can be seen at the road end opposite, and above them the orange soil and the black layers were the result of a recent eruption only a few years back. Some say the disturbance of the mountain region caused by the geothermal plant has caused more volcanic activity locally, but considering the scale and awsome power of nature at work here, I personally doubt that the effective addition of a bore hole or two would have any great effect !
