Place : Latrigg and the Greta Woods

Event : A non-competitive orienteering evening for staff, family and friends.

Distance and time : Meet after work, leave after a meal at the Pheasant Inn, Keswick

Weather : A fine evening with respectable amounts of sunshine.

A map of the course

Meet at the bridge and pick up the map and compass from Carol

If you're not sure how to use a map and compass, ask Michael.

Then try following it !!!

On the way you may get nice views of Derwent Water and the high fells . . . .

.

and venture deep into the forest . . . meet strange plants used by animals for keeping their fingers warm.

. .

Clues will be found at the appropriate places . . . . towards a final anagram word.

On the way we passed under the A66 road bridge, an award winning structure,

but quite imposing when you pass so close underneath its road deck.

Her the viaduct from an old bridge beneath it. ( point 10 on the map )

From new technology to old. The house by the bridge over the Greta.

Point 11, the finish, and everyone safely home

A few photos of the refreshment break afterwards.

Not a bad staff room eh!!

Technical note: Pictures taken with a Cannon IXUS 400 Digital camera.

Resized in Photoshop, and built up on a Dreamweaver web builder.
